DIRECTIONS:

Whether approaching from the northeast or the southwest (on Interstate 20/59) take exit 73, turning north onto Hwy 82/McFarland Blvd.  Drive 2.4 miles and take the exit marked “University Blvd.”  After the looping exit, take a right toward the University on University Drive.  In just under a mile, turn left on 2nd Avenue.  You will see the School of Music on your right and a parking lot on your left.  (If you are staying at the conference hotel, turn off of 2nd Avenue onto 9th Street, just after the School of Music, and the Hotel Capstone will be on your left.)

TRANSPORTATION:

Birmingham Door to Door is a reliable transportation service running between Birmingham International Airport and Tuscaloosa.  Their website is here:

PARKING:

You may park in the large parking lot across 2nd Avenue from the Moody Music building (School of Music).  University Parking Services has been made aware of the conference and will expect some cars in this lot without permits on Friday.  On Saturday, all parking is open and unrestricted.  If you are staying at the conference hotel, simply leave your car in the hotel lot and walk next door to the School of Music.

HOTELS:

The conference hotel is the Hotel Capstone.  All attendees are encouraged to stay at this hotel, as it is immediately adjacent to the School of Music, making transportation and parking a breeze.  Simply ask for the SCSMT room rate of $115.  The block is reserved for Thursday and Friday nights, March 14th and 15th.  These rooms can be held only until February 14, so please make arrangements soon.  Some other lodging alternatives are listed below.
